In your Christian walk, do you walk the walk or do you just talk the talk? I am sure you have heard of the saying, “Treat others as you would want others to treat you.” Did we not all learn this “golden rule?” This life lesson, as I call it, applies MORE so, I think in our Christian walk than in any other part of our lives.
If we are NOT treating other people JUST as we would want to be treated, than are we living a Christian like life? I don’t think so. Jesus told us in
Matthew 22: 37-39 to:
37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.
38 This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it:
39 ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’
The verse that really relates to, “Treating others as you would want others to treat you,” is verse 39. It says to LOVE your neighbors as yourself. So, if the Bible is telling us to do this, then why are so many Christians not walking the walk? I have met many a self professed “Christian” that only talk the talk.
I pray every day that the Lord will help me to continue to walk the walk. I pray that we all will all think about this for a little while today.
